What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

I Won!

Last week I received a happy email telling me that I had been chosen the winner of Jodi's February giveaway at Sweet Repeats.

Lucy started getting into her art mojo not that long ago and she has made great strides by selling art, being invited to art shows and even being printed in magazines. Her art has grown by leaps and bounds. I am proud of her!

My prize was a print of this sweet piece of art as well as a gift certificate to her Etsy Store.

I chose this sweet piece that reads "Destiny" in the center. I loved the vivid blue colors and the message just spoke to me - Destiny.
So, thank you Jodi/Lucy/Juicy for my wonderful prizes! Please go check out her blog and her artwork right NOW!
