What is a monkeybox?
When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure. *Those are my Great Grandparents up there. My Great Grandma was the original Martha Stewart. She threw a great party and decorated for every holiday. I want to be her when I grow up. Oh wait! I am!

Shara, hi, I just found your blog through Margo, Love her! Wow, you do find the old treasures. Your blog is full of goodies. We seem to have a lot in common. First of all I noticed the Breadman. I too am married to a breadman. He's been the breadman for almost 28yrs. He was a routeman for a long long time. He has been in management forever now. Still works unbelievable hrs. But you know about that. Still leaves early, gets home late. He's a workaholic! Started out with Rainbo Bread, sold and was Earthgrains, sold and now is Sara Lee. He does work horrible hrs. but it has made a very good living for us. The name Breadman just caught my eye, he had a company van he drove for yrs. he later purchased and he had The Breadman, painted on it. Everyone here in our town in Kansas knows him as the breadman! I also noticed the post on the Jonas Brothers coming to Tulsa, we too are not far from Tulsa. We live on the Kansas/Oklahoma border. We were planning on taking the daughter to the concert, looked up the ticket seating and everything, but it is the same time as cheerleading camp for her. Needless to say she was major bummed!
