What is a monkeybox?

When I was a little girl, we had a pet monkey named Amanda. My Dad worked in the produce business, so each night he brought home that days culls in a big box - spotty cucumbers, pithy apples, limp celery, moldy oranges and the like. We called it a monkeybox. It was really just trash, but my Mom would take each piece of fruit and trim it, pare it and cut it up to make a beautiful fruit platter for Amanda. Even though it was deemed trash by one, it still had life left in it and was good for the purpose we needed it. That's how I live my life - thrifting, yard saling, looking for another's trash to be my treasure.

Not a Blogworthy Post

Well, hello.  I haven't really blogged at all this "year", now have I?  Every night I think, I need to blog. But, I haven't really done anything "blogworthy" as I like to say.  Generally, I look back over my pictures from the past few days to see if I need to blog about anything.  This is what I found.

Santa Blow Molds

I sent my Santa's packing like good little soldiers back out to the shed until next year.

 Button Mushroom
I ate this perfect butt shaped mushroom the other night.

 Birthday Cake Fudge

I "Pinned It and Did It' when I made this Birthday Cake Fudge for a birthday party tomorrow. I cut it into circles so each piece looks like a tiny birthday cake.

The iPhone.

I fell in LOVE with my new iPhone.  Holy Mackeral, how did I get by without this thing before????

Hopefully, I will be back soon with something NEW and EXCITING.  Oh, maybe not.  But, maybe I will have some NEW EXCITING photos like fudge and mushrooms.  You just never know!

Have you done anything NEW and EXCITING?

That's an absolute army of Santas!

And what can I say about the mushroom? I'm still chuckling over that one. Is there a blog for 'interesting' fruits, vegetables & fungi? There should be... (maybe you should start it?

I think your post was blogworthy! I found a blow old this year, now I have two - a long way to go before I catch up with you! They're so neat!

Isn't technology great? I'm typing on my new iPad2-love it!

And, Pinterest - well, that's another story - how addicting is that?

I gave myself a new smart phone for Christmas. How did I ever live without it? It is so fun.
Love the mushroom!! Saw a t shirt this morning with an "ordinary" mushroom and "I'm a fun guy" on it.
Keep looking, you always find plenty of blog worthy stuff.
Happy New Year!!!

Here's a blog post idea for you...what apps are you using on your new iPhone? Anything thrift or antique related?

Would have loved to give that butt-shaped mushroom to DS; he hates mushroom anyway so I'm sure that one would have truly disgusted him (evil grin)!
